Kalathas - Akrotiri

Kalathas beach is organized with sun loungers and a restaurant as well as its shallow, clear waters and its fine sand are ideal for children. Its located only 10km from the city center.

Tersanas - Akrotiri

Tersanas village is a small, seaside village just a few kilometers away from Kalathas and it is a natural harbor of Chorafakia village. Tersanas beach is ideal for young children as it has shallow, clear waters and white, fine sand. It is also organized providing to its guests umbrellas and a canteen.

Maherida – Akrotiri

Maherida beach is 2.5 kilometers away from Kalathas and 14 kilometers northeast of the city of Chania. The bay is almost always peaceful, with clear waters, surrounded by rocks. Maherida beach does not provide sun loungers and it is considered as a pole of attraction, especially for nudists.

Marathi - Akrotiri

Marathi is a small seaside area in Akrotiri, 17 kilometers east of the city of Chania and 10 kilometers away from Kalathas. The fact that it is oriented to the south, makes the area peaceful and free of wind compared to other beaches of Crete. Marathi is divided into two beaches, equally beautiful, with clear, shallow waters and white sand. They are both organized with several cafeterias and taverns nearby. If you come to Marathi, we recommend you to visit Patrelantonis tavern and taste its excellent Cretan cuisine.

Loutraki – Akrotiri

Loutraki is a tourist resort 16 kilometers east of Chania, almost next to Marathi. The distinctive characteristic of Loutraki beach is its crystal, turquoise waters in combination with its white sand. It is organized with sun loungers, cafeterias and restaurants where you can enjoy your meal.

Seitan Limania – Akrotiri

Seitan Limania Beach is located 22 kilometers northeast of Chania, in Akrotiri. It is a beach of great beauty, since its crystal, clear, turquoise waters are surrounded by huge rocks. The beach is not organized as well as visitors need to park their car and then walk for 10 minutes in order to reach the beach.

Falasarna

Falasarna beach is located 59 kilometers west of Chania and is one of the most enchanting beaches of Crete. It has been awarded as one of the ten best beaches in Europe. Its length is about one kilometer and its width is 150 meters. The sand is white giving the water a tropical color and the beach is organized with sun loungers and umbrellas. Falasarna beach is also an ideal choice for sports enthusiasts.

Kedrodasos – Chania

Kedrodasos beach is located 76 kilometers southwest of Chania, close to Elafonissi beach. It is full of juniper trees which are similar to cedar trees, from which its name originated. Kedrodasos covers an area of 110 acres and is ideal for camping. It is not organized and that is why its natural beauty was kept.

Balos

Balos is located 56 kilometers southwest of Chania. It is one of the most famous beaches in Greece because of its exotic beauty. The sand is white and gives the waters a turquoise color as well as the shattered shells give pink shades. The sea is quite shallow and warm, ideal for young children. Walking into the sea, it deepens and the waters become cooler! You can visit the beach either by car through an unpaved route or by boat. The boats leave from the port of Kissamos and offer to visitors a small cruise on the island’ s coast.

Elafonisi

Elafonisi Beach is located 76 kilometers southwest of Chania and only 5 kilometers away from Chrysoskalitissa Monastery. Amazing beaches with shallow, turquoise waters are formed on either side of the peninsula. They do not exceed 1 meter in depth and give a feeling of an exotic landscape in Caribbean sea. The sand is white and pink in several places due to the broken shells. On the east side of the beach, a lagoon is formed which is organized with umbrellas, showers and refreshments.

Agios Pavlos – Rethymnon

Agios Pavlos beach is 58 kilometers south of Rethymnon. It is an ideal place for families, since the beach is peaceful and organized, with sun loungers and taverns.

Preveli – Rethymnon

Preveli is located 35 kilometers south of Rethymnon. The beach is one of the most beautiful in Crete and is located at the exit of Kourtaliotiko gorge. On the beach, you can find Grand River. Along its length, there is a large colony of palm trees which give a sense of a tropical landscape. The beach has cool, crystal, clear waters and although its coastline is covered by sand, its seabed is pebbly. There are no sun loungers and umbrellas at the beach, but there are many trees offering shade, as well as a canteen that serves the bathers.

Ammoudi – Rethymnon

Ammoudi beach is 32 kilometers south of Rethymnon and is organized with umbrellas and taverns. Ammoudi has clean, crystal, clear waters and is ideal for diving.

Ligres – Rethymnon

Ligres beach is located 51 kilometers south of Rethymnon. The beach is vast, with crystal, deep waters. It is not organized helping the natural landscape to be preserved. There are also some taverns ready to fulfill the visitors’ needs. Walking along the beach, you will find a cascade connected to the beach.
